Or something like that. I HAVE been knitting, even managed to finish a few things in time to give them as Christmas gifts (some a bit late, but hey! who's counting?). I made socks for my dad (forgot to take a pic) and a bag for my SIL and a few hats. I finished the Flower Petal shawl from elann.com (I'll post a picture as soon as it blocks to my liking) and this bag that I made for my MIL for her birthday.

I got distracted by these bracelets for a week or two (I ordered a kit from EarthFaire and kinda went from there...)

I made a few more but neglected to take pictures, of course. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but its a start, right?

Happy 4th of July! (and a yarn acquisition)

I got to take a trip to Webs in Northampton, MA on Saturday. It was everything everyone says and more. I was almost too overwhelmed to buy anything...almost.

I got 4 skeins of Noro Kureyon to make a Booga Bag, 2 skeins of Cascade 220 to make some sort of felted bag, a bag full of Filatura de Crosa 501 to make SOMETHING (it's a really pretty raspberry color and a bag of Dazzle ladder yarn for my mom to make a shawl out of. Can't wait to go back.

I won an eBay auction for this cute basket of roving and the drop spindle last week. I can't wait to try it out as soon as I can find a way to get my "helpers" out of the house.

Last, but not least, here's a progress pic of the Clapotis I started on Friday in the Sahara SW Trading Bamboo. I'm almost done with the increase section. I'll try to get one with better contrast next time, but I like the way the colors are coming out so far.

Do you prefer shorter or more dangling type of markers? Depends on the project, so no preference.

Is there any kind of markers that you would absolutely NOT want to recieve? Nope!

Colors you like most?Colors you like least? I like pretty much anything. Pink, yellow and tangerine are my current favorite colors.

Would you prefer markers for smaller or larger sized needles? Both. I use everything from a size 5 to a size 15.

Do you want your sender to reveil themselves when there shipped or at a later date?and How would you like to find out if at all? No preference as to when, but I'd like to know at some point.

Anything that you like your sender to know that would be helpful for them? Nope, I'm pretty easy to please (just don't tell anyone, I'll get a reputation!)

Secret Pal Gifts

I've been so bad about posting, here's what I got from my pal almost a month ago:

This is the package in it's unopened state...

And all the goodies revealled: yellow Deco ribbon to make the X-Back tank, yummy coffee with vanilla syrup, Baileys, cinnamon and cinnamon sticks and a pretty postcard with a very nice note.

My SP also sent a wonderful birthday gift that I neglected to photograph in my excitement. Here's the rundown though: There were 3 bags of heavenly-smelling spice mixes to make a seafood dinner and salad dressing, along with 2 chocolate truffels (chanpagne and expresso - does it get any better than that?!) that I did manage to share with my husband. And the best part: the most lovely note and a skein of first-issue silk Nonokitty yarn in beautiful shades of pink, purple and tangerine (officially the "Light My Fire" colorway)!!! I'm planning to make the scaft version of Clapotis with it.

So another thanks to you SP!!!

A badly needed update!

My first update in months to my poor neglected blog. I've finished quite a few things since my first post. Here are pictures of a few...

Pre-felted Knitty Gritty bag (can't find the felted photo, but it looked lovely, just a tad on the small side). Gifted to my Sister.

Pre-felted Booga Bag (Lion Brand Landscapes) and fuzzy flipflops, my Mom's Mother's Day gifts. (again, no finished pic, got to get better about that).

Another pre-felted Knitty Gritty bag, made from handspun/hand-dyed yarn. The heart didn't really show once the bag was felted. I traded this bag for window-box planting by my friend.

My finished Clapotis! SW Trading Co Bamboo yarn in Tequilla. I love this shawl! I started another one in the Sahara color for my best friend's birthday.

Cute washcloth and bathmit in Sugar & Cream.

Aedan's YELLOW sweater, a Debbie Bliss pattern done in Lion Brand Cotton-Ease. He was so excited to put it on for the first time! This is my first finished knitted sweater.

That's all I have pictures of...I also made a baby blanket for my new nephew, 3 ponchos for my neices, and Branching Out for the mother of a good friend (can't believe I forgot to get pictures of that!!!).

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person that DOESN'T already have a blog - so here I am. I'm looking at this as a way to track my knitting progress and hook up with new friends along the way. I'm a stay-at-home mom to two children, my daughter is 18mths and my son is 3. I taught myself to knit 7 or 8 years ago, and then took a very long break. My mother and grandmothers are (were) very talented crocheters, but mom is left handed and I couldn't figure out how to crochet backwards. I finally taught myself when I was pregnant with my daughter because I wanted piles of those cute sweaters and hats (must have been a nesting thing). A skein of very fuzzy Pattons Divine in a wonderful raspberry color brought me back to my knitting needles - there was no way I was going to find my stitches if I crocheted it, so I decided to knit a sweater. That was 3 months ago, and I haven't put my needles down yet! Since then, I've made a felted bag, almost finished that fuzzy sweater, finished a poncho for my niece (and started one for her sister) and cast on my first sock and a sweater for my son. My ambition usually far outweighs my follow-through, but I'm trying to finish what I've started before buying more yarn. I guess that's it for now...I'll post pictures as soon as I figure out how!
